Alterations

Start by picking the item you'd like to alter.

Unsure what category your clothing item falls into? Need to know if we alter certain fabrics? Check out our Alteration Details below.

ALTERATION DETAILS

Shirt vs. Tank Top

Select Shirt if your shirt’s sleeves extend past the shoulder and cover some or all of your arm.

Select Tank Top if your top’s sleeves don’t extend past the shoulder seam.

Shirt vs. Button Down

A button down is a shirt with a button-up closure. Button downs can have a collar or be collarless and can have long or short sleeves, with or without cuffs.

Select Button Down if the item's buttons cross the bottom hem. Otherwise, select Shirt.

Pants vs. Shorts

Select Pants if the garment's length falls past your lower calf.

Select Shorts if the garment's length falls between your upper thigh and below your knee.

Accepted Fabrics

We alter cotton, linen, polyester, nylon, acrylic, spandex, lycra, elastane, flannel, denim, and blends of these fabrics.

Prohibited Fabrics

We don't alter knit wool, knit acrylic, cashmere, or any crochet-style loose-knit fabrics. These materials unravel during the alteration process  and often require re-knitting, which is not a service Crop It For Me provides.

Items with Embellishments (Sequins, Embroidery, Beading, etc.)

We don't alter items with embellishments (sequins, embroidery, beading, etc.) that cross or cover the area being altered.

However, if the embellishment is not covering the area being altered, we can still make a change (e.g., if there is embroidery on the chest but not on the hemline, we can still shorten the item).
