Pinning a Round Hem
Rounded hemlines are longer in the middle and slightly shorter on the sides.
To pin your shirt with a Round Hem, you will need to mark two lengths: the Bottom Length and the Side Length.
Test out and decide lengths for your new Round Hem.
Choose either option A or B below to find your perfect Round Hem lengths.
A Try on the shirt you are shortening.
While standing up straight in front of a mirror, fold the bottom hem of your shirt up and inward to your desired length to see how it will look.Â
Continue testing lengths until you’re satisfied.Â
Wear a pair of shorts or pants that you’d likely wear with your shortened shirt to help you pick the best length.
Make sure to raise your arms while you’re testing out shirt lengths. What looks good with your arms down might be too short with your arms up. It's always good to check!
B Use a shirt you already own as a reference length.
